One bedroom is on the ground floor with an adjacent shower/wet room with grab rails and shower chair. A door opens from this bedroom straight onto the patio and garden. The cottage has a change in levels between the kitchen/bedroom area with one step down to the living and dining rooms. A ramp can be provided. This Cottage is built on one level with a single step at the entrance. It is very suitable for ambulant people with restricted mobility, although care should be taken in the small bathroom with a step into shower. A bath seat can be provided. The cottage also has some narrow doorways. It has been used by people who use a wheelchair but can also manage to stand and walk a step or two with assistance. In the conversion of these buildings, this cottage was designed to give maximum accessibility for wheelchair users. In the kitchen, work surfaces are at an appropriate height and all appliances are accessible. There are wide doorways throughout, a walk-in shower and ample space for maneuverability.
